We were recently in Brockwell Park which is in South East London, to fit some window shutters to a customer’s bathroom. The wide window was located above the sink area and next to the shower, which made it important to create privacy for the customer and family. They were also keen to get the most out of the natural light into the room at all other times of the day.
By creating the shutter run with 4 panels the owner can open, close and adjust the shutters in a multitude of different ways depending on the privacy and light required at the time. Each panels louvres can be adjusted individually meaning that some can remain open while other for example in the shower area can be closed down.
We used louvres featuring a hidden tilt rod system which allows the client to adjust the louvres through touch rather than with a visible rod. This creates a more minimalistic feel to the overall look of the shutters, which works great with this bathroom! We installed them using an invisible split along the middle of the shutter panels, allowing the top and bottom of the louvres to also be adjusted separately. Altogether these are one of the most adjustable panels of shutters available.
We used full height style shutters for the design with multiple panels along the wide window opening. Each panel is closed with hinges which were painted white to match the silk white paint that we finished the shutters in. The white paint works well with the room and tiling to create a seamless and modern look.
