We recently found ourselves in Sydenham Hill in South East London. A new customer was looking to have some of our bespoke shutters designed and fitted for a bay window located in the living room. The client required more privacy in the room as it is located at street level with a path and busy road just outside. They also wanted the best window dressing possible for a bay window which would operate as they required and also look fantastic!
We designed the shutters using a Tier on Tier style which allows for the top and bottom sections of the shutters and louvres to open and close separately. This allows for far more options when it comes to light and airflow levels. Many customers prefer this style as they can keep the bottom level private while still allowing for light in through the tops.
The shutters were created using MDF, 64mm louvres and a silent tilt rod system for operating the shutters. Many of our customers opt for silent tilt rod systems as it creates a far more minimalistic look without the need for visible rods. They were designed and installed with a 4 sided L Frame and insert. They were then finished off in pure white paint with white hinges which fits perfectly with the existing décor.
