We were recently at a property in East Dulwich in South East London to fit some bay window shutters in a living room. The client wanted shutters that would fill the whole window area and allow maximum flexibility of light control and privacy. We decided with the client that Tier on Tier Shutters would be the best solution for his needs and tastes!
Many customers with traditional bay windows look to have Café Style Shutters fitted, which leaves the top section of the window left uncovered and open to natural light. With Tier on Tier all sections are covered but with the option of opening, closing and adjusting every single panel. This is great for those looking for privacy, insulation and maximum control of light entry into the room.
We used MDF from our Antigua range of shutters which makes for an affordable yet quality made solution for areas such as this. The shutters are made using MDF coated in a polypropylene outer coating.
Each panel of shutters features centralised tilt rods and 63mm louvres which helps create a traditional look for a bay window and match with the rest of the property. All panels were then finished in pure white paint with matching white hinges.
The result was flexible yet cost effective shutters to help keep the clients room private from the road outside while also allowing for maximum adjustment of each part of the shutters to get the best of the light coming through the windows throughout the day.
