We were asked to fit some new shutters for a client in Balham, South West London. They were looking for a solution to help with both privacy and natural light entry into the room. The bay window where the shutters were to be fitted faces out onto a busy street, so lower level privacy on the window was crucial at most times.
We used Café Style Shutters for this job, which allows the bottom half to be fully covered with shutters and the top section free to let in maximum amounts of lights. Many of our clients also opt to have curtains with this style which can be pulled across to cover the open top section. The shutters can be fully opened, closed and adjusted anywhere in between depending on the light or privacy required at the time.
Using 64mm louvres and centralised tilt rods over the panels we were able to great a traditional look which worked perfectly with the existing décor and rest of the home.
These plantation shutters were fitted to a bay window on the bottom floor of the property. We used material from our Bali Range which is made up of LDF. This is a durable yet light weight solution which can be painted and stained in a huge amount of colours! The client decided to have the shutters finished in a standard pure white finish with hinges to match, which looks great in this room.
