A client required some shutters for their child’s bedroom located in Thornton Heath which is in South London. They were looking to add extra privacy from the buildings opposite and also create an attractive window dressing which could be better adjusted throughout the day for the child. These full height shutters work perfectly on a bay window allowing for each panel to be adjusted to get the perfect mix of privacy and lighting. With the added mid rail the customer can further adjusted the top and bottom section independently.
The shutters were made up of many panels custom built around the existing bay window, featuring mid rails two thirds of the way up which not only matches the sizing of the windows behind, but also gives more strength and flexibility when adjusting.
We created the shutters using MDF and beaded styles for some extra detail. Each of the 8 panels have 63mm slats and tilt rods which run down the middles for ease of adjustment. Centralised tilt rods also help to create a more traditional look which we thing works well with this type of window and décor. The shutters were painted in pure white which fits in perfectly with the décor!
