We are often asked to design and fit shutters to many different areas of the home as they are not just limited to windows. It is becoming very popular to have shutters fitted as an alternative to standard wardrobe doors and we think they look fantastic! These shutters can be opened just as easily to access the inside of the wardrobe while creating a great look within the room.
These shutters were fitted to a wardrobe in a loft conversion in Brixton, South West London. They required special manufacturing and fitting to ensure that they would perfectly fit within the shape of the loft conversion. The special shaping was required on the top right of the shutters to fit within the angled ceiling level, while not affecting the opening and closing of the wardrobe.
The shutters are made from our Fiji Range of wood which is a great full bodied hardwood which has great rigidity from projects like this. It is also a great wood for shaping which ensured that the end result looked and functioned perfectly. The shutter doors are made up of 46mm louvres which are fixed in place as they are not required to open and close as they would on a window.
We finished the shutters in pure white with matching hinges which works perfectly with the loft conversions décor. The customer was very impressed with the new look and functionality that our shutters provided to the wardrobe and room!
