We were recently in Dulwich, South London to fit some shutters in this home owned by one of our customers. The client was looking to have multiple styles of shutters fitted to the upstairs and downstairs of the home which needed to match in appearance and finish from both the inside and outside of the property.
Creating the shutters from our Cuba Range we bespoke made all the shutter panels to match the exact angle and sizing of each window. The shutters were required for bay windows and standard windows and they needed to work well with the existing look and décor of the property.
On the bay window located downstairs we used a café style of shutters which was created to take up three quarters of the window allowing light to enter through the top quarter at all times. Wecreate this style in many different heights depending on the specification that the customer requires. The most popular sizing we are asked for is halfway or two thirds, so these were made slightly differently!
Upstairs we created tier on tier shutters, still using the same material. This style of shutters allows for maximum control of light and privacy which is why it has become one of our most popular styles with our clients. They offer a split in the middle which allows the top and bottoms to not only be adjusted independently but also open and close separately in each section.
We used 64mm louvres over all the shutters and finished them in the same silk white finish which helped them to not only look the same, but work well with the property from inside and the exterior. To adjust the louvres we installed the shutters with a silent tilt rod system which allows for operation by touch rather than using rods!
